This monument is installed in Aspen, Colorado. Max Marolt came from a local Aspen family who came to the Roaring Fork Valley to ranch in the 1800's. He grew up skiing and competed in World Ski Championships in 1954 and 1958, He became Aspen's first Olympic Ski Team member, competing in the Squaw Valley Winter Olypics in 1960.
